We Need Another Great Awakening

A Divine Interruption

The life of Samuel was one of divine interruption. He shows up on the scene in Israel during a season of darkness, compromise, tolerated perversion among the high priest Eli's sons, etc. His very presence represented the Word of God, and his prophetic calling was one based on righteousness, the worship of the God of Israel alone and an adherence to the requirements of God's precepts among His people. Full Grown Sin

The Bible is very clear in James the first chapter that sin has a cycle to it. The fact is that when one acts on their lustful desires there is a door that opens that many times leads to bondage and even death. This is clearly true for people who do not follow Jesus. However, even among those who profess Jesus as Lord, there is still a pathway that can lead to sin, which when matured can even cause spiritual shipwreck as the Apostle Paul mentions. To be a follower Jesus means that our lives must consist of a mindset that is eternal. Our passion, focus, and agenda must consist of a view that is altogether eternal. We must refuse to become intertwined with the spirit of this age and do as Paul instructs in Colossians 3:2 by "setting our minds on things above..."
